INTAMSYS HIPS is 3D printing material, High Impact PolyStyrene, with excellent printing quality. It possesses the properties of good impact resistance and low water absorption. It can also be used as the breakaway support material for ABS, ASA and PC.
Advantages of HIPS filament:
- Very versatile support material
- Easy to process
- Used as support for ABS, PA-CF, PET-CF
- Works as a soluble support material (in limonene) for PC.
- HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) offers a cost-effective solution compared to other materials.
- HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is formed from a mixture of high impact polystyrene and polybutadiene rubber, hence the name High Impact Polystyrene. It is thus a copolymer that combines the elastic properties of rubber with the strength of polystyrene.
- HIPS is similar to ABS in its properties, but is harder and more impact-resistant. It is also well-known for its high impact strength, lightness, resistance, and mechanical resilience. Objects printed with this material typically have a smooth and scratch-resistant surface and are antibacterial. HIPS is hard but not brittle.
