The ASA (acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylic) filament from ROSA3D is a polymer resistant to UV radiation, moisture and heat. ASA's UV resistance makes it a suitable material for outdoor applications that will be heavily exposed to the sun and various weather conditions. ASA is ideal when you need a high-performance material that will cause less problems than printing with ABS. The filament has a lower level of shrinkage and the fumes produced are much less noticeable. The softening point of ASA prints is higher compared to PLA and PET-G, there are no signs of deformation up to a temperature of approx. 94° C. The exceptional mechanical and thermal properties of ASA, together with excellent resistance to UV radiation, make it an ideal material and alternative ABS for automotive, marine and outdoor applications such as mirror housings, covers, radiator covers and sensor housings.
Recommended printing parameters
- extrusion temperature 220-250°C
- table temperature: 90-110°C
The adhesion of the first layer to the table can be improved with ASY juice (ASA plastic dissolved in acetone). It is recommended to print in a closed chamber.
