Whale is a 3D scanner that combines the highest level of detail with versatility — thanks to the innovative dual-core solution (micro-core + wide-core), it can handle both intricate details and large-surface scans.

Technical specifications of the 3DMakerpro Whale 3D scanner

The scanning accuracy is 0.05 mm in micro-core mode and 0.10 mm in wide-core mode. The resolution is 0.20 mm (micro-core) and 0.50 mm (wide-core). The working distance in micro-core mode is 300 ± 100 mm, and in wide-core mode 650 ± 250 mm. The single scan range is 200 × 100 mm (micro-core) and 530 × 370 mm (wide-core).

The scanner operates at approximately 10 frames per second and uses NIR (near-infrared) technology as its light source. Scan alignment is automatic and does not require markers.

The device supports automatic texture mapping, and output formats include OBJ, STL, ASC, and PLY. It is compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit) or later and macOS 12, including Apple devices with M1 processors.

The scanner’s dimensions are 230 × 148 × 188 mm, and it weighs less than 1.5 kg.
